Dr. Duval has been out several times to check on Luke, as well as Gracie and Vickie who are all on stall rest. Luke is progressing along but antsy to go out in the pasture. Dr. Duval said Luke should be on stall rest for a minimum of 20 days, and that 30 days would be better.
Luke can be a high energy boy and today he was feeling his oats. He really wanted to go out and reared up at one of the volunteers, all in a playful manner. He was giving out 'love bites', trying to get us to play but we can't do that because we don't want Luke jumping on the bad leg and re injuring it or worse, causing more damage.
Poor Luke just hates being inside, especially when all his buddies are out in the nice cool weather. At least his stall has a large window that can be opened in the daytime. He can see several 'playmates' from it, he just can't join them right now !
